Overhauling Your Beliefs

Are you living the life you want to live? That was my question last week and if your answer was no, I told you that it was time for a major overhaul of your believe system. Now, I would like to share with you how can you make a huge overhaul of your believe system. You truly have created your personal reality with your beliefs and expectations. But the good news is this: Since you are the creative source, you also have the power to re-create your personal reality. How? By making conscious changes and adjustments in your personal beliefs and expectations.

Here are some insights to help you polish up your reality creating a tactic:

First tactic: There is literally no one else like you. You are not "ordinary." You are totally MATCHLESS. No one else has your ideas, thinks like you or does things the way you do. No body has your same set of talents and abilities. Your brain is as unique as your fingerprints. So stand up and carry yourself with dignity because this is your life. Just be your original, unique self.

Second  tactic: In this life you either react or respond to situations. There is a huge difference between reacting and responding. Reacting is an automatic Knee-bump to life. Responding involves making a conscious choice. You can make the choice to React or you can choose to consciously Respond to what's happening to or around you. So Learn to RESPOND - not just to react.

Third tactic: Choose your own thoughts.The greatest power you have is the power to choose your own thoughts. The late Earl Nightingale said, "You become what you think." The truth of this is so powerful it is almost overwhelming. You and you alone decide what you will think and what you believe your limits and potentials are. And you alone decide what to do with this awesome power.

Fourth tactic: Stamp out your ANTs (Automatic Negative Thoughts). Do you remember we talked about this last week? Now, how do you do that, stamp out your ANTs

  1. You have to identify the ANTs. You cannot ignore them, you have to confront them, otherwise they will not go away.
  2. Select a positive statement that is the exact opposite. Let me give you one example. You may have the following Automatic Negative Thought:  you have negative feeling of failure, you may say, "I am fearless and untouched by failure." Always use the present tense (I am), because that's the message you want to cement in your subconscious mind. This is very powerful.
  3. Do this exercise in private, facing a mirror. Look right into your own eyes, and repeat that statement while you continue to look straight into your own eyes, add strong emotion to it till you get your brain's attention.

So are you who you want to be?


One more question if you would. Are you living the life you want to live? If your answer is no, so it is time for an overhaul of your believe system. Yes, you heard me right. Your believe system needs a major overhaul. Anything else will just be a band-aid that will simply create more of the same.

ANTs and Your Beliefs

We all have our own collection of ANTs. I am not talking about those little tiny animals, no, I am talking about Automatic Negative Thoughts. Your ANTs are just trying to do what your brain thinks is best for you—protect you from pain. Where do ANTs come from? They are directly tied to limiting beliefs. Why is so important to work on your limiting beliefs? Well, if you want to work on your limiting beliefs, you need to work on what really is the root of those limiting beliefs—Negative Thoughts.

In our Solid Coaching for Life program we have an entire module dedicated only to this topic; limiting beliefs and how to override them. 

Have you hear this before: “We become what we think about”? Do our thoughts really control who we become? It is now evident that “you become what you think about” is more than just and old saying. What you really mentally FOCUS on actually creates your VERY REAL personal reality. I dare to say that this topic is so important because it is the foundation for your success in business, personal and spiritual life. Now you see why most of the people are not living the life they want to live. Their limiting beliefs are holding them back.

Let me leave you this week with something to think about: Your ability to transform yourself depends on what you BELIEVE. If you believe something is beyond your control, is truly will be beyond your control. While if you BELIEVE you can change it, then you can.

When you look for it, you can see your own attitude. You can see in the first thing in the morning when you wake up. You can see it in the mirror when you are getting ready for the day. You can see it at breakfast. You can see it at work, when you are with other people, or when you are by yourself. And you can especially see it when you are confronted with the challenges or problems of the day or family problems, your spouse, your kids, etc.

If you were to study your attitude carefully, you would find that more than anything else, it is your attitude - at any given moment - that is choosing how well your day is working. And if you add all of those moments together ( all of your days and weeks and months of attitude moments), you would find that more than anything around you, it is your attitude that has been choosing how well your life has been working.

Here is a great question. Are your controlling your life or your are controlled by your life? Your own attitude, at any moment, says a lot about you- like it was printed in bold letters on whatever you are wearing that day. And over time, it is your attitude, how you are “thinking,” each day, that determines whether you are making your life work- or not, whether you are in control- or not.

If you spend the next 30 days, and then the next 60 days, and beyond, if you worked everyday on making your own attitude incredibly “right”, you could do anything. With the right attitude, you could overcome any fear, defeat any problem, see the best in your self, set any goal, keep yourself up, overcome the obstacles, and reach the goal.
