Success Is An Option

So is failure.

"Success isn't a result of spontaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire." -Arnold H. Glasow

Put fuel in your success - building program. For many people say they want to be in charge of their life, but then they turn their evening schedules over to their television sets to determine when and what they will do. Other say they have lofty career dreams and goals, but then they turn responsibility for their skill development over to their employers. So, yes, many people say they want to act upon life, but at the end of the day it appears more that life is acting upon them.

See if you do not observe the same theme that I observe—that those who get the most out of life and those who give the most are those who make the choice to act.
We can and we should become the creative force of our own lives—and of our own futures.

Make the three choices:
1. Act upon life
2. Attach yourself to meaningful, uplifting purposes
3. Live in accordance with timeless, universal principles

Personal Growth

Growth does not just happen...YOU have to go after it! You have to know who you are to grow to your potential. But you have to grow in order to know who you are. The best you can hope in life is to make the most out of whatever you have been given, your talents, your skills, etc. "And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, `Master, you delivered to me five talents; here I have made five talents more. His master said to him, `Well done, good and faithful servant..." -  St. Matthew 25, 20-21. You do that investing in yourself, making yourself the best you can be. I think we have the responsibility to grow and this apply to your Personal, Business and Spiritual growth.

Have an appointment with yourself for Personal, Business and Spiritual growth every day, five days a week, fifty weeks a year. However, the Spiritual growth must be daily, it is like oxygen, we can't live without it. To grow, you must know yourself: your strengths and weaknesses, your interests and opportunities.

SELF-ASSESSMENT

Everything stars here—personal assessment. One thing is very important when you are trying to do your self-assessment, you have to be brutally HONEST. You cannot fool yourself, if you do, you will not be able to accomplish your purpose in life, the life you are meant to live. Once you have done your self-assessment, you have to ask yourself the following questions:  Am I happy with the outcome in my life so far? Do I need to grow in my personal, business and spiritual life? If so, do you assume that you will automatically grow?

Now let me ask you, do you have a plan for your Personal, Business and Spiritual Growth? A quote from James Allen’s As A Man Thinketh comes to my mind. Allen wrote, “People are anxious to improve their circumstances but are unwilling to improve themselves; they therefore remain bound.” If you want to improve your personal, business and spiritual life, you have to improve yourself. Here is the most important thing you need, you have to engage in intentional personal, business and spiritual growth. Growth does not just happen, not for me, not for you, not for anybody. You have to go after it! If you have dreams, goals, you need to grow to achieve them.

Take a look at the following misconceptions about growth that may be holding you back from being as intentional as you need to be.

1. I assume that I will automatically grow.
2. I do not know how to grow.
3. It is not the right time to begging.
4. I am afraid of making mistakes.
5. I have to find the best way before I start.
6. I do not feel like doing it.
7. Others are better than I am.
8. I thought it would be easier than this.

As Jim Rohn (+QRIP) said, “You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.” If you want to reach your goals and fulfill your potential, become intentional about personal, business and spiritual growth. It will change your life. But, you have to start with a very HONEST self-assessment.

The Ability of Changing Your Self-Talk

We have come to one of the most exciting and most life-changing personal growth tools that has ever been discovered. It is the ability of changing your programs by changing your Self-Talk, and it is an ability you can use for the rest of your life.

If you want to change your life and make it better, there is one thing you can do that all successful people do: you can change your Self-Talk.

How Self-Talk Works: From the moment we were born, everything that has been said to us, everything we have heard, seen, done, or experienced has been programmed into the storage center of our brain, our subconscious mind. Every message we have received has been typed into our computer storage banks. Permanently. All of the thoughts and messages that were typed into our "computer"- subconscious mind- along the way are still there. Good, bad, or otherwise, the programs we received, first as small child, then as teenager, and then as an adult, are still with us today, recorded and stored, chemically and electrically, word for word, in the neural networks of our brain. Our brain stores the messages we get as though they are true.

In our coaching for success system, "The Power of Self-Coaching", we have a whole session dedicated to the study of the two layers of our mind: Conscious and Subconscious mind. The subject is: "High Density Real Estate - 3 pound brain". Our brain is our ultimate success tool.

Here are some examples of the kind of things some parents have said to their children - without ever realizing that they are actually typing permanent programs into their children's wide open, eagerly waiting computer minds:

  • "Sometimes I think you do not have a brain in your head."
  • "Who do you think you are, something special?"
  • "Can't you do anything right?"
  • "You are stupid."
  • "Why can't you be more like your brother?"
  • "You are the laziest person I have ever seen."
  • "You do not have the talent."
  • "I think your brother got the brain."
  • and on, and on, and on.
Our programs come from everywhere around us. Simple words and messages create programs that stay with us for a lifetime. In the meantime, develop a strong positive Self-Talk.

Use Goals to Help You Grow

A goal is an objective, a purpose. A goal is more than a dream; it is a dream being acted upon. A goal is a clear "This is what I am working toward." Goals are as essential to success as air is to life. No one ever stumbles into success without a goal. No one ever lives without air. Get a clear fix on where you want to go. Without goals we cannot grow. People these days are measured by the size of their dreams and goals. So visualize a big future.

The important thing is not where you were or where you are but where you want to get. Where do you want to be 5, 10 years from now? The modern corporation does not leave its future to chance. Should you? We can and should plan at least 5 years ahead. You must form an image now of the person you want to be 5 years from now.

Before you start out, know where you want to go. First, visualize your future in terms of three core departments: personal, business and spiritual. Second, demand of yourself clear, precise answers to these questions: What do I want to accomplish with my life? What do I want to be? Am I taking actions that support my answers to these questions?

Success requires heart and soul effort and you can only put your heart and should into something you really desire. Surrender to desire and gain energy, enthusiasm, mental energy and even better health. Successful people have their eyes focused on a goal and this provides energy.
