Your Mind is an Amazing Device

Your mind is the most delicate, most sensitive device in all creation. Let's look and see what makes the mind think the way it does.

Millions of people are diet-conscious. We are a calorie-counting nation. We spend millions of dollars on vitamins, minerals, and other dietary supplements. And we all know why. The mind is what the mind is fed. Mind food, of course, does not come in packages and you cannot buy it at the store. Mind food is your environment, all the countless things which influence your conscious and subconscious thoughts. The kind of mind food we consume determines our habits, attitudes, personality. Again, you can apply this to all the three levels we cover in our coaching program; Personal, Business and Spiritual. Environment shapes us, makes us think the way we do. More important, the size of your thinking, your goals, your attitudes, your very personality is formed by your environment.

Prolonged association with negative people makes us think negatively, close contact with petty individuals develops petty habits in us. On the bright side, companionship with people with big ideas raises the level of our thinking; close contact with ambitious people gives us ambition. I can hear some of you saying: "Tony I am satisfied with my business, my spiritual life and my personal relationship with others, I am not an ambitious person." Well, this I have to say: Sorry, but your way of thinking will not make any contribution to mankind. Satisfied people have nothing to show up with. We must be grateful but never satisfied.  Because ambitious people your are reading this post in your electronic device or PC, because ambitious people we have the Bible, we can travel the world, we can talk and view our love ones in real time using the internet, we have medicines to cure people, and the list goes on and on and on.

My tips for this week: (by the way, good food for your mind)

  1. Recondition yourself for success and be environment conscious.
  2. Be extra careful. Study negative people. Do not let them destroy your plans for success.
  3. Make it a rule to seek advice from people who know.
  4. Go first-class: that is an excellent rule to follow in everything you do.
  5. Give yourself a pep talk several times daily. Build a self yourself-to-yourself commercial. Remind yourself at every opportunity that you are a first-class person

Your "Emotional Power"

If you think something often enough with intense emotional feeling, that thought will create a stronger network of brain-cell-to-brain-cell connections. While if you stop thinking about something (like a bad memory), the associated connections will begin to become less active and could eventually disappear.

Since emotion strengthens brain connections, emotion is very important in making your life what you want it to be.

Let's put "Your Emotional Power" to work:
  1. Select a primary goal. Make sure is basically ONE goal. Suppose for example that your goal is to "achieve prosperity by the end of the year."
  2. Next ask yourself questions like: What is prosperity to me? Is prosperity a financial state, or does it have less to do with money, and more with something else? What do I have to do to make this be so?
  3. Make a genuine emotion-packed commitment to DO whatever it takes to achieve your desired goal. This is critically important.
  4. Now add the power of focused thought. This is where repetition enters in. You want to reprogram your brain to support what DO you want, and forget what you DO NOT want.
Here is a simple and easy strategy that can help you to move along toward your goal: Every morning write in a new 3 x 5 card a brief statement of a goal you have selected. I will suggest you to select a goal for each one of your most important aspects of life: Personal, Business and Spiritual. Then in the other side write a one specific thing you will DO today to move you closer to your end goal. In only one month you will be astonished at how your life has changed.

In our Solid Coaching for life we have a system to support this powerful strategy: Emotional Power. If you want to change your personal, business and spiritual life, you have to develop this strategy. By the way, either your like it or not, you are using this strategy. The problem is that you may be using it but not to your advantage.

Challenge Your Limiting Beliefs

The sum of your personal beliefs literally draws the line around what you can, and cannot, achieve in your life.

If your beliefs about yourself and your potentials are positive and empowering, your world is full of opportunities and success. But if you have negative limiting beliefs about yourself and your potential, your life will be filled with one disappointment, frustration and failure after another. That’s just the way beliefs work.

Do you wish to get what you want in live a lot easier? Well, go after the old limiting beliefs holding you back. This begins with having the personal courage to identify them. Once you identify a belief that’s somehow limiting you, it’s time to go to work.

Here is a simple step you can take this week toward doing your work with your limiting beliefs: Replace your old beliefs with success-affirming positive new beliefs. Beliefs actually CHANGE reality. Start by reminding yourself that your beliefs are only habitual ways of thinking. And like any habit, a belief can be revised. By the way, it does not matter if you believe your positive new statement at first. The more often you consciously focus on your new statement, the faster your subconscious mind will simply accept it as true.

I just want to end with this true story that most of you know by now. The movie Lincoln and the winner of the “Best Actor” Daniel Day-Lewis as United States President Abraham Lincoln. If you have seen the movie you will agree that it was such a great acting of Daniel Day-Lewis. This is a good example of how the subconscious mind will accept any belief or statement you focus on. Daniel Day-Lewis “demanded” from everyone while he was acting or during breaks, including families, to be called or addressed as President Lincoln. While acting and filming, he” believed”, he was Lincoln.

This is your challenge for this week Pick one negative belief of yours and replace it with a new positive statement (belief). Let’s say that you are never on time for appointments or meetings. Using the self-talk strategy, start saying the following; “I am always on time” and repeat this over and over and over. It may take you a week or a month or three months, but you will soon be punctual in your appointments and you will start respecting other people time.

Let me know if you have experienced changing a negative belief, how long it took to replace it with the positive belief and what strategy did you use.

Exceptional Attitude

Your Own Attitude Controls Virtually Everything About You

Well, here we are at the beginning of another week. A week that will be dramatically affected by your own attitude. It is a week that you will design or you will let someone else design it for you.  You will encounter challenges out of your control. But your attitude will affects or controls those challenges. Let me say this; if your mind isn't right your life won't be right. Getting your mind right means getting your attitude right. And that is essential, because your attitude controls or influences virtually everything about you. Your attitude is how you choose to approach the next moments of your life, every hour of your day.

Much of your week could be said to be based on "good attitude, good week - bad attitude, bad week." The attitude you choose takes you far beyond that. Virtually everything you experience, every day, every week, is affected by your attitude. What if you could immediately make your life work better, Just by Changing Your Attitude?

If you want to develop what I call "Good to Great Attitude", you need to begin to spend time with like-minded people. This is why having a coach is so important. A coach that is your partner in success and is fully invested in your success. Any ways, like it or not you have coaches every where, every time and the sad thing is you did not hire them and you listen to them. Here are just few of them:

  1. TV - the programs you choose to watch, news, etc.
  2. People you listen to.
  3. Books/Magazines you read.
  4. Colleagues, associates, etc.
Everyone of them want to "coach" you.
